My top 3 Adobe Commerce alternatives
By Shubhashree Halder, Content Manager
Shopify
Shopify is an intuitive e-commerce platform that's great for anyone, whether you're just starting out or already experienced with online selling. It provides plenty of customizable templates, so building a professional-looking store is quick and straightforward. Shopify also makes managing your products, tracking sales, and accepting payments across multiple channels easy and hassle-free. Popular brands like Kylie Cosmetics, Gymshark, and Allbirds have successfully built their online stores using Shopify.
If you're considering Shopify as an alternative to Adobe Commerce, it's definitely worth exploring. Shopify tends to be simpler to set up and manage, especially if you're looking for a user friendly solution without compromising on features. Adobe Commerce can be powerful but often requires more technical expertise and resources to maintain. Overall, Shopify can offer a smoother experience, particularly for businesses looking for ease-of-use and flexibility.
Woocommerce
WooCommerce is a popular e-commerce plugin for WordPress that allows you to turn your website into a fully functional online store. It offers a wide range of features, including customizable themes, product management tools, and secure payment gateways. WooCommerce is ideal for businesses looking for a flexible and scalable e-commerce solution. Some examples of businesses using WooCommerce include Porter & York, EcoKitty, and The Good Batch.
BigCommerce

It offers advanced features such as multi-channel selling, inventory management, and marketing tools to help you reach more customers and increase sales. Practical Day-to-Day Order and Discount Management
For a small brand with a lean team, Shopify has been practical. The order management view is clear, returns are manageable with the right app, and the discount code system is flexible enough for campaigns. I would like a few more advanced features included natively, but overall it is easy to run day to day

Why is Shopify a good alternative to Adobe Commerce?
I believe Adobe Commerce is a great alternative to Shopify because of its robust features and scalability. Adobe Commerce, formerly known as Magento, offers extensive customization options that allow businesses to create unique and personalized online stores. This platform is perfect for medium to large-scale businesses that need a comprehensive solution for their complex needs.
Adobe Commerce also excels in its integration capabilities. It can seamlessly integrate with various third-party systems such as ERP, CRM, and payment gateways. Furthermore, it provides advanced SEO tools and analytics to help businesses optimize their online presence and performance. Unlike Shopify which charges transaction fees, Adobe Commerce does not impose any such costs, making it a cost-effective choice in the long run.
What are the differences between Shopify and Adobe Commerce?
I have found that Adobe Commerce and Shopify are two of the leading e-commerce platforms, each with its unique features and capabilities. Adobe Commerce, formerly known as Magento, is an open-source platform that offers a high level of customization and flexibility. It's ideal for large businesses or those with specific needs that require extensive customization. However, it demands a higher level of technical expertise to set up and manage.
On the other hand, Shopify is a hosted platform designed for ease of use. It's perfect for small to medium-sized businesses that want to get their online store up and running quickly without needing much technical knowledge. Shopify provides a range of templates and apps to customize your store but doesn't offer as much flexibility as Adobe Commerce.
In terms of pricing, Shopify has straightforward monthly plans, while Adobe Commerce can be more expensive due to development, hosting, and maintenance costs.
WooCommerce is a free, open-source eCommerce plugin for WordPress. It allows users to build and manage their own online store, offering features for product listing, shopping cart management, order tracking, and payment gateway integration.

Why is Woocommerce a good alternative to Adobe Commerce?
I find Adobe Commerce to be a great alternative to WooCommerce due to its extensive features and scalability. Adobe Commerce, formerly known as Magento, is an open-source platform that provides a wide range of customization options, making it suitable for businesses of all sizes. It offers robust SEO performance, advanced inventory management systems, and superior order management capabilities. Additionally, Adobe Commerce has a more extensive global support community compared to WooCommerce. This means you can get assistance from experts around the world at any time. While WooCommerce is popular for small businesses due to its simplicity, Adobe Commerce is perfect for larger enterprises that require a more comprehensive and scalable solution.
What are the differences between Woocommerce and Adobe Commerce?
I have found that Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) and WooCommerce are two popular eCommerce platforms, but they have some significant differences. Adobe Commerce is a standalone product that requires its own hosting and setup. It's designed for large businesses due to its scalability, robustness, and a wide range of features. However, it can be complex to use and expensive.
For its part, WooCommerce is a free WordPress plugin, making it ideal for small to medium-sized businesses or individuals who already have a WordPress site. It's easy to use and has enough features for most online stores. However, it may not scale as well for larger businesses and its performance can be affected by other WordPress plugins.
In conclusion, while both offer comprehensive eCommerce solutions, your choice between Adobe Commerce and WooCommerce should depend on your business size, budget, and technical expertise.

Why is BigCommerce a good alternative to Adobe Commerce?
I believe Adobe Commerce is a great alternative to BigCommerce due to its robust and flexible features. Adobe Commerce, formerly known as Magento, offers a high level of customization that allows businesses to tailor their online stores according to their specific needs. This is particularly beneficial for businesses with unique requirements that cannot be met by standard e-commerce platforms.
Additionally, Adobe Commerce has a large community of developers constantly working on improving the platform and creating new extensions. This means that the platform is always evolving and adapting to the latest e-commerce trends. Furthermore, Adobe Commerce supports a wide range of payment gateways, making it easier for businesses to accept payments from different sources. Lastly, Adobe Commerce's scalability makes it suitable for both small businesses and large enterprises.
What are the differences between BigCommerce and Adobe Commerce?
I have found that Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) and BigCommerce are two leading eCommerce platforms, each with its own strengths. Adobe Commerce is an open-source platform that offers a high level of customization and flexibility. It's ideal for large businesses that have the resources to manage and customize their online store. However, it may require more technical expertise to set up and maintain.
On the other hand, BigCommerce is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform that provides a more user-friendly interface. It's easier to set up and manage, making it suitable for small to medium-sized businesses. BigCommerce also offers a range of built-in features and integrations, but it may not provide the same level of customization as Adobe Commerce.
Therefore, the choice between Adobe Commerce and BigCommerce largely depends on your business size, resources, and specific needs.

Simple Store Setup & Smooth Checkout
Squarespace has been a good fit for our online store because product pages are easy to set up and inventory tracking is simple enough for a lean team. The checkout experience feels smooth, and the email campaign integration is handy when launching new products. I found a modest extra discount on the plan through Joinsecret, which was a nice bonus rather than the main reason we picked it

Weebly: A Satisfactory Yet Underwhelming Website Builder
My overall experience with Weebly has been satisfactory, but slightly disappointing. Compared to other website builders like Squarespace, it seems less modern and stylish. I'm uncertain if I'll continue using Weebly or switch to another platform soon. I managed to create my website as desired, selecting a template and replacing everything with my own photos and videos. However, the website felt clunky and occasionally unresponsive. There were instances when the preview didn't accurately reflect the actual website, and it would sometimes freeze. I would have to exit and re-enter, hoping my changes were saved. Sometimes they were, sometimes they weren't. I initially chose Weebly because my wife already had a website with them.

Complimentary E-commerce Solution: OpenCart
I appreciate that OpenCart is free and easy to use, and it integrates well due to its popularity. However, I believe it could enhance its template support. Its competitors provide more plugin support and superior page builders. I didn't choose OpenCart, as I find Woocommerce to be more comprehensive.
