My top 3 Framer alternatives
By Jean-Loup Karst, Co-founder @Secret
Webflow
When building an actual website using a Content Structure, I normally use Webflow as my development tool. At that time, I also typically opt for their CMS plan, which is $23 per month (billed annually), and this provides 20 CMS Collections, 2000 CMS Items, and bandwidth levels of up to 50GB. I enjoy working within the workflow of "Collections → Templates → Scheduled Publishing" in order to schedule case study publishing on specific dates. If my website's traffic increases, I can upgrade to their business plan at $39 monthly (annual) and will have available 300 pages, 40 CMS Collections, and bandwidth of up to 2.5TB.
Wix
For a “business” site (appointment booking + payment + marketing), Wix saves me time because the Core plan offers 50 GB of storage, “Accept payments,” “Scheduling and services,” and 5 collaborators. For a solo user, the Light plan is a practical entry point (2 GB of storage, 2 collaborators). And if a team grows, Business Elite goes up to 100 collaborators and adds an “Advanced developer platform.”
WordPress.com
If my main need is to publish (blog, pages, articles) with a hosted CMS, WordPress.com is my pragmatic choice: I can work in the "visual block editor" and rely on managed hosting and “Jetpack-powered” security. On the budget side, I look at the simple tiers: Personal $9/mo, Premium $18/mo, Business $40/mo, Commerce $70/mo (listed prices, with possible discounts depending on duration).

Ditching WordPress Plugins for Easier CMS Management
I switched to Webflow after too many WordPress plugin headaches, and for a content-driven site it has been much easier to manage. The visual editor is intuitive enough for non-technical teammates, but I still appreciate being able to fine-tune interactions and responsive layouts without digging through template code every time

Why is Webflow a good alternative to Framer?
Webflow is particularly suitable when I need to deliver a “structured” marketing site to a growth team or an agency, with clear rules regarding pages, the CMS, and bandwidth. On a content-driven site (blog, use cases, SEO pages), the CMS plan ($23/month billed annually) gives me collections (20) and items (2,000) that make templates reusable, plus “Scheduled publishing” to time announcements. When I know that traffic might spike (campaign, launch), I like being able to upgrade to Business ($39/month billed annually) and benefit from higher bandwidth tiers and “surge protection” on paid plans. And if I have an integration (e.g. pushing records from a back-office), the Content Management REST APIs (add/update/remove CMS items) are a useful way to automate without switching tools.
What are the differences between Webflow and Framer?
The list of alternatives mentioned Webflow, Squarespace, WordPress.com, Hostinger, Wix, Sanity, Uizard, ProtoPie, InVision and Figma. Where Webflow stands apart from Framer is the “Site plans + Workspace plans” logic and very explicit limits per plan. For example, Webflow Basic is $14/mo (annual) with 150 pages and 10 GB of bandwidth, without CMS; Webflow CMS is $23/mo (annual) with 20 collections, 2,000 items and 50 GB of bandwidth; Business is $39/mo (annual) with 300 pages, 40 collections and bandwidth tiers up to 2.5 TB. Webflow also exposes Content management REST APIs (e.g. 120 RPM on CMS/Business) to push/update items for automation purposes. Framer, on its side, segments rather into Free/Basic/Pro/Scale/Enterprise, with a “marketing stack” orientation and customized support/limits at the Enterprise level.

Quick All-in-One Ecommerce Setup
What sold me on Wix was how easy it was to get an online store running without a long setup process. Product pages, coupon codes, abandoned cart emails, and basic shipping rules were all manageable from one dashboard, though I still wish inventory reports were a bit more detailed

Why is Wix a good alternative to Framer?
Wix is a good alternative if I am a non-technical founder, merchant, or operations manager of an SME and I want a site that can process payments and manage appointments without stacking up four different tools. To get started, the Light plan offers 2 GB of storage and 2 collaborators, which is enough for a showcase site managed by two people. As soon as I need a checkout and scheduling, the Core plan clearly states “Accept payments” and “Scheduling and services,” with 50 GB of storage and 5 collaborators. If I move to a multi-team model (marketing + dev + content), Business Elite increases to 100 collaborators and adds an “Advanced developer platform,” giving me a springboard for custom solutions without migrating immediately.
What are the differences between Wix and Framer?
Wix and Framer do not answer the same question on a daily basis: Wix sells itself as a “site + payment + services + marketing” package, while Framer is designed as a design-to-site tool focused on marketing pages and team collaboration. On the Wix side, there are very concrete signals in the plans: Light offers 2 GB of storage and 2 collaborators; Core offers 50 GB, “Accept payments” and “Scheduling and services”; Business Elite offers unlimited storage, an “Advanced marketing suite,” “Advanced eCommerce,” an “Advanced developer platform,” and 100 collaborators. Framer, on the other hand, emphasizes stages (Free, Basic, Pro, Scale, Enterprise) depending on the team level and capacity needed for a “full marketing stack,” with an Enterprise offer available on request/custom limits. Concretely, if my project involves appointments, payments, and “services” from day one, I find Wix more straightforward; if my starting point is a very “design-first” mockup that needs to be published quickly, Framer still feels more natural.

Focus on Publishing, Not Upkeep (20% Off Bonus)
My experience has been mostly positive because it lets me focus on publishing instead of maintenance. The image handling is straightforward, scheduled posts work well, and I got a small discount through Joinsecret that trimmed about a fifth off the subscription, which was a nice bonus rather than the main reason I signed up

Why is WordPress.com a good alternative to Framer?
WordPress.com seems to be the most relevant when I am a content creator, editorial manager, or a small marketing team that publishes a lot and wants to delegate the infrastructure (servers, security, maintenance). On a daily basis, I work in the visual block editor, choose a theme, and rely on the built-in analytics and Jetpack-powered security rather than tinkering with hosting plugins. The budgeting is easy to explain to a client: Personal $9/mo for a basic site, Premium $18/mo if I want the next level, Business $40/mo when the need becomes “business-grade,” and Commerce $70/mo when the shop becomes central (prices shown, with discounts depending on duration). If my main objective is the pace of publication and content management, WordPress.com is often more “CMS-first” than Framer.
What are the differences between WordPress.com and Framer?
WordPress.com is primarily a hosted CMS (publishing + themes + editing), while Framer starts from a design canvas and moves towards a published marketing website. On WordPress.com, I think in terms of “posts/pages” and use the visual block editor, a theme library, built-in analytics, and a security layer based on Jetpack. Pricing is clearly structured in tiers (Personal $9/mo, Premium $18/mo, Business $40/mo, Commerce $70/mo, with variations depending on the duration). Framer, on the other hand, talks about Free/Basic/Pro/Scale/Enterprise for teams that “run their full marketing stack on Framer,” and reserves Enterprise for needs like dedicated support and custom limits. In practice, I choose WordPress.com when editorial workflow and content management are the priority; I choose Framer when motion/design and speed of landing page production are the priority.

Simple Store Setup & Smooth Checkout
Squarespace has been a good fit for our online store because product pages are easy to set up and inventory tracking is simple enough for a lean team. The checkout experience feels smooth, and the email campaign integration is handy when launching new products. I found a modest extra discount on the plan through Joinsecret, which was a nice bonus rather than the main reason we picked it
