While both Milanote and Notion have space to store your content, each will influence how you process and organize your information differently. Milanote promotes visualizing your information as well as your sense making of it, while Notion encourages you to structure the way you complete tasks and execute projects. Milanote has an amazing ability to give you a visual surface for your ideas to develop organically as they come to you, before you are forced to organize them into some sort of structure. Notion does exactly the opposite – it gives you the ability to create structures that can grow with your needs and allow you to execute on multiple projects, collaborate with multiple people, build processes, and eliminate the frustration of not being able to find the most recent versions of your work.
Is Milanote better than Notion?
I would say Milanote is better than Notion when the nature of your work is ambiguous (at least initially) and is visually driven – e.g., creating brand mood boards, finding inspirational UX designs, developing a creative strategy for a client, outlining stories, and conceptualizing campaigns. Milanote allows you to group, compare, and collect content in a manner similar to how you might organize a creative agency's studio wall; Notion cannot do this out-of-the-box.
