My top 3 OnBoard Meetings alternatives
By Edouard Rosenblum, Co-founder @Secret
Basecamp
Basecamp is another excellent alternative. It's more than just a project management tool; it's an all-in-one platform for communication and organization. With Basecamp, you can create to-do lists, schedule events, upload files, and have discussions all in one place. For instance, if you're working on a website redesign project, you can use Basecamp to assign tasks to team members, schedule deadlines, share design files, and discuss progress all within the same platform.
Smartsheet
Smartsheet is a powerful tool that combines elements of project management with spreadsheet functionality. This makes it an excellent choice for projects that involve lots of data or complex scheduling. For example, if you're planning a large event with multiple vendors and schedules to coordinate, Smartsheet's spreadsheet-like interface can make it easier to keep track of all the details. Plus, Smartsheet also includes features like Gantt charts and automated workflows to further enhance your project management capabilities.
Trello
Trello is a simple yet powerful project management tool that's easy to pick up and adapt to your workflow. It uses a visual, card-based system where each card represents a specific task. You can easily drag these cards between columns like 'To Do', 'In Progress', and 'Done' to track task progress at a glance. Additionally, Trello lets you add checklists, labels, due dates, and attachments directly onto the cards, making it a versatile choice for managing all aspects of your projects.
Trello is an excellent tool for onboarding because it's intuitive and visually appealing. New team members can quickly grasp how tasks flow through different stages, making their transition smoother. Its simplicity reduces the learning curve, allowing newcomers to jump right in and start contributing effectively.

Why is Basecamp a good alternative to OnBoard Meetings?
I find Onboard a great alternative to Basecamp because of its unique features and user-friendly interface. Onboard offers a more comprehensive onboarding process for new employees, which is crucial in setting them up for success. Unlike Basecamp, it has a personalized checklist feature that allows for better task management and ensures no step is missed during the onboarding process.
Furthermore, Onboard's interface is intuitive and easy to navigate even for non-tech savvy users. It also provides real-time tracking of tasks, making it easier to monitor progress and deadlines. In terms of collaboration, Onboard promotes efficient communication among team members with its integrated chat feature.
Lastly, it's cost-effective. With its tiered pricing model, businesses can choose a plan that fits their budget and needs. Overall, Onboard provides a more tailored and efficient approach to project management and team collaboration.
What are the differences between Basecamp and OnBoard Meetings?
I have found that Onboard and Basecamp are quite different in terms of their functionality and purpose. Onboard is primarily a tool used for employee onboarding, streamlining the process of integrating new hires into the company. It helps to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, training sessions are scheduled, and any other administrative tasks are handled efficiently.
Conversely, Basecamp is a project management tool designed to facilitate communication and collaboration within teams. It provides features like to-do lists, message boards, schedules, documents & file storage, and more. While Onboard focuses on individual employees and their integration into the company, Basecamp is more about managing projects and ensuring effective team collaboration.
In summary, while both tools aid in organization and efficiency, Onboard is more focused on individual employees' onboarding process whereas Basecamp is geared towards project management and team collaboration.

Trello Excels at Simplicity
Trello appears visually appealing and is very user-friendly for me. Its straightforward interface enables me to quickly grasp how to structure my tracking. However, I am not fond of the restriction on the number of custom fields. If I require custom fields now, I will likely need more in the future. I don't like being limited in the number of fields, which forces me to operate within the tool's constraints rather than my own understanding. I don't want to pay for something as basic as a field. I would prefer to be charged for baselining, enhanced reporting, or more advanced features, rather than being nickel and dimed for fields.
