01 Is Snagit any Good? My expert Review
As of today I have used Snagit for roughly two years as well as it being an important tool in my everyday work flow. With creating training material and documentation for my internal team I was able to save myself a lot of time by being able to take quick screenshots and mark them up.
The Scrolling Capture is excellent when I have to document an entire Web Page or large Application Interface that does not fit all on one screen.
For me what makes Snagit so great is how simple their editing tools are. I am able to quickly put Arrows, Blur sensitive information, and Text Callouts into a screenshot.
Last week I was able to make a Step-By-Step Guide to our new CRM System in less than thirty minutes, which would have taken me a whole lot longer if I had to use Traditional Screenshot Tools and additional Editing Software to complete this task.
I will say however that I find the Video Recording Feature to be a bit limiting compared to Dedicated Screen Recording Software. Also, there is no Advanced Editing Feature for Videos that can be frustrating at times when you need to do a little more than just trim your recordings. Lastly, the Price Point for Casual Users that may only need to take the odd screenshot can be very expensive.
That being said, For Professionals who consistently create Visual Documentation, Tutorials, or Presentations, Snagit provides Great Value. In addition to the Cloud Library Feature allowing me to access my Captures from anywhere; the most recent updates have greatly improved the Performance of the Software. Although not Perfect, I believe Snagit is definitely Worth the Investment for My Needs.
