Honestly, I’m fairly ambivalent toward Adobe’s Creative Cloud; however, I will say that their app integration is phenomenal! Last month, I created an illustration in Illustrator, added some texture to it in Photoshop, and finally, used After Effects to animate it for a client’s presentation. Using this single platform to complete those steps took me significantly less time than I would’ve spent using different pieces of software.
In addition to the app integration being so good, Creative Cloud allows for flawless cloud-based storage and syncing. I’ll begin working on a brochure in my home office, and finish up by making last-minute tweaks to the color palette on my laptop while sipping coffee at a coffee shop. I never have to worry about transferring files from my computer to my laptop – it all just works seamlessly. And because of the subscription model, I get new functionality and features constantly (i.e., Photoshop has an incredible new AI powered generative fill feature; I was blown away when I used it to remove background images).
On the other hand, the subscription model can feel quite pricey – particularly during slower months where I’m only using half of the Adobe apps I’m paying for each month. In essence, I’m forced to spend well over $60 per month no matter how many times I use it – and sometimes I don’t use it at all. Another thing to note is that the Creative Cloud apps can be resource intensive. For example, my older laptop really struggles with Premiere Pro – it even gets hot during longer editing sessions.
Overall, I think it’s probably worth the cost for professionals that are going to use the majority of the Adobe apps on a regular basis. However, I do think that casual users may find that they’re paying for much more than they end up needing.

High Subscription Cost
Adobe Creative Cloud requires an ongoing monthly or annual subscription which can become expensive over time, especially for individual users or small businesses with limited budgets, making it less accessible compared to one-time purchase software alternatives
Mandatory Internet Connection
The software requires regular internet connectivity for license verification and updates, which can be problematic for users working in remote locations or areas with unreliable internet access, potentially disrupting workflow
Steep Learning Curve
Creative Cloud applications are professional-grade tools with complex interfaces and extensive features that can be overwhelming for beginners, requiring significant time investment in training and practice to achieve proficiency
Software Bloat
The suite includes numerous applications and features that many users may never need, resulting in large installation sizes that consume substantial hard drive space and system resources, potentially slowing down older computers
Subscription Lock-In
Users don't own the software outright and lose access to all applications if they stop paying the subscription fee, meaning they cannot open or edit their project files in native formats without maintaining an active subscription, creating long-term dependency on Adobe's pricing structure

After Effects + Premiere with Dynamic Link Iteration
After Effects plus Premiere Pro is a strong combo, and Dynamic Link makes quick revisions painless when you are iterating on lower thirds or motion templates, but I do wish playback performance was less picky about codecs
