01 Is LegalPlace any Good? My expert Review
LegalPlace has been used by me for approximately eight (8) months to manage several of the day-to-day legal and administrative functions for my small consulting business and it has been somewhat of a mixed bag. Overall, I found that LegalPlace was extremely user-friendly when registering my company. Completing all the necessary paperwork and uploading all required documentation was done easily through their web-based application, and within two (2) weeks after completing the application, I received my KBIS.
Although the registration process was very simple and the step-by-step process was very informative and helpful, when I went to make some changes to my company statute six (6) months later, I found that the interface was less than intuitive for making those types of changes and I was forced to contact customer service numerous times before the matter was resolved. Customer service response time was also inconsistent and at times, would respond quickly; i.e., within a few hours, while at other times, it could take up to two (2) days to get an answer. When I finally spoke to a legal advisor, they were knowledgeable and able to resolve the issue; however, the lack of consistency was disappointing.
I find the document templates on LegalPlace to be very useful, especially for creating NDA's and Service Contracts. Based upon my usage of these templates, I believe that I may have saved approximately 800 Euro's over what I would have paid if I had hired a traditional law firm to draft them. However, there are instances where I will still seek to consult with a specialized attorney for matters that involve a high degree of complexity and/or nuance. I believe that LegalPlace is a great tool for handling standard processes and providing assistance with everyday legal issues, but should never replace a professional attorney when you need to make important, strategic decisions.
