01 Is Zoho Bookings any Good? My expert Review
In terms of both positive and negative aspects of utilizing Zoho Bookings to manage consulting appointments for my digital marketing firm for nearly eight months – it’s honestly been a mixed bag. The process of setting things up was very easy – I had my calendar set up with my availability linked to Google Calendar within 15 minutes, eliminating the morning hours spent sending back and forth via email that used to be so common.
One feature that has worked extremely well is the ability to customize your own appointment booking page(s). I have created separate booking pages for my clients based on their type of consultation (discovery call, strategy session, follow up meeting) with custom duration and buffer times for each; additionally the auto-detecting of time zones has been very useful due to the fact that many of my clients are located throughout Canada, USA and Europe.
Unfortunately, while this is an excellent tool, its reporting capabilities are somewhat basic compared to other tools in the market. When I needed to review which time slots were being utilized the most, or identify the trends of no shows for the past few months, I ended up having to export the data into Microsoft Excel rather then utilizing the reporting function within Zoho Bookings. Furthermore, the mobile app is not as clean as I would have liked, checking my schedule on the go is not as fluid as I would have hoped.
Lastly, the price point of Zoho Bookings is certainly competitive, especially if you are currently utilizing other Zoho products. It will provide a reliable way for smaller business or a solo consultant to schedule appointments, at a cost that won’t break the bank. However, do not anticipate that you will receive the same level of analytical data and/or seamless experience on mobile devices that more expensive options may offer.
