Therefore this option is perfect for freelancers, individual consultants, or teachers who may occasionally send a few contracts or permission slips, but do not live at their signature dashboard all day. You will still have access to the core editing experience along with the ability to integrate with Google, therefore you can work directly from Drive or Gmail and never use desktop software again. Unfortunately the major drawback is volume; as soon as you reach the point where you are sending multiple contracts per week, the limits will catch up with you and you will begin to feel the frustration of hitting the limit on a constant basis. What is the difference between DocHub’s Free and Basic?

The Free pricing plan will give you a taste of the core workflow including uploading and editing pdfs, annotating or signing a couple of documents and integrating well with Google Drive/GMail. If you're sending a handful of contracts or permission slips each month, and do not require a complete document operations machine then it may be sufficient to use the free pricing plan. However, there are some limitations: the number of folders are limited to three; and, the number of sign requests are limited.

We believe that if you're still doing casual document work, the Free pricing plan may provide enough functionality. This is ideal for a group or department that consistently sends documents and the lower tiers have document limits that are limiting their ability to work efficiently. Pro provides the power you need to operate efficiently.


Site License is a whole other animal; it isn't about additional bells and whistles on features, it is about how you purchase and manage the tool as well. A site license is designed to be used by organizations/institutions; you pay for a single agreement for a large number of users, you receive volume pricing, you can administer from a centralized location, and you'll have a standardized tool set available to your teams. Scale, Control and Predictability are what site licenses offer.


We feel that if you are a developing team who send many documents but fall below the 30-35 user mark and do not have many internal constraints, Pro should meet your needs. However, once you reach dozens of users, multiple departments, or have a requirement for governance and cost allocation, the Site License makes more sense as your long term solution. Evaluate your head count, document volume, and administrative burden today so you do not regret buying into an Enterprise level license later than needed.

Which plan should I choose for my company?

Your decision to select the proper DocHub pricing plan for your organization will be based upon the amount of time your team spends working with documents and how structured you want those document-based workflows to be. The free DocHub plan has plenty to offer your team (for example: very good editing tools, plenty of signature opportunities for simple, low volume work) as long as your use of these tools is intermittent or limited to a couple of users. In addition to unlimited requests, you will have the ability to do bulk sends, sign documents in person and use all of the workflow features that help move your documents along.


We also suggest that large organizations or organizations with compliance needs consider purchasing a site license. The central billing and administration alone may provide justification for upgrading from a lower-cost plan to a site license. To determine what pricing plan will work for your organization, take an honest assessment of your document volume, team size and internal processes. It will likely become obvious very quickly which pricing plan will limit your abilities and which plan will give you the freedom to use the tools at your disposal.

DocHub's Free plan is generous, but you will encounter usage limits sooner rather than later. For instance, DocHub limits the number of sign requests you can send each month as well as the number of documents you can store on their platform. Most startups are going to select the basic level of service when it comes to choosing an appropriate tier of service for DocHub. Why? The Basic level offers the right combination of cost effective pricing and the ability to take on serious document workflow needs. Most startups will be able to create and edit documents and/or send out contracts, get signatures from partners/co-founders, etc. but they won't have the same level of capabilities that larger organizations have and therefore can't afford to upgrade to a higher level of service.

If you are creating and sending dozens of contracts and/or doing in person signings, you may want to consider upgrading to the Pro level of service. However, most of the startups we have worked with use the Basic level of service until they reach some type of scale trigger. Therefore, yes, for most new/young companies, Basic will make the most sense.
