01 Is Lark Suite any Good? My expert Review
For the last 8-months, Lark suite has fundamentally changed how my team works together, and what stands out most is that everything happens in one space.
During our recent product launch, we had the project timeline in Docs; budgetary discussions were happening in Messenger; and the kick-off call was happening in Video Call – we didn’t have to switch between different platforms. We saved hours by being able to seamlessly integrate.
One of the most impressive features of Lark suite is the Translation Tool. Our International Teams have been able to communicate much better since Lark automatically translates from local language to English (not perfect) however enough so that we quickly understand the context of each message. Prior to using Lark, this was accomplished via copy & paste to Google Translate with Slack.
While Lark suite has its frustrations — particularly the mobile apps ability to edit complex spreadsheet, and I have lost formatting on a couple occasions while editing detailed reports on my commute. The notifications need a lot of improvement too. Sometimes I will miss an important message simply due to less important messages getting pushed down in the notification queue.
The Pricing is extremely competitive in comparison to purchasing individual subscriptions to both your Communication Tools & Productivity Tools. As such, Lark suite provides tremendous value for Small to Medium size teams who are looking to reduce their Technology Stack. While Lark may not be as polished as Google Workspace in certain areas, Lark’s all-in-one approach to Collaboration makes it a very viable alternative for Distributed Teams.
