01 Is Venmo any Good? My expert Review
As someone who uses digital payment apps fairly frequently, Venmo has quickly become my app of choice for everyday transactions. To be straightforward, I think it can be considered the Swiss army knife for payment apps. It's functional, useful, and convenient. What I particularly enjoy with Venmo is that it is straightforward and easy to use. Whether it be splitting a restaurant bill, or reimbursing friends for a night out, clicking a couple of buttons that read "Pay" or "Charge" just feels effortless. Just last weekend during a trip away with some friends, we easily divided and reimbursed each other for gas, lodging, and meals with ease due to the user-friendly layout of the app.
Another big plus is its popularity among my friends and family. Since all of my close friends and family use Venmo, it has almost become second nature to send payments back and forth. Furthermore, it eliminates the need to chase down cash or wait for days for bank transfers to clear. Generally speaking, it is a smooth process that is quite fast.
However, not everything has been sunshine and rainbows. I experienced minor issues with privacy settings that caught me off guard at first. I mean in a world where sharing is caring, Venmo's default social sharing did not sit well with me at first because I don't want to share and share alike when it comes to my every pizza or coffee order. I eventually figured out the privacy settings and managing your privacy for your transactions is easy.
Only other small problem would be that Venmo is not too flexible when managing multiple business accounts. A friend of mine that operates two separate small businesses found that limitation inconvenient and decided not to use Venmo's service as a result. Aside from those minor shortcomings, for personal use, or small-volume business transactions, Venmo has provided a reliable service.
Overall, my experience with Venmo has been overwhelmingly positive - it's convenient, easy to use when splitting with friends, and a widely accepted app across my social circles. True, there are areas where the service could improve (like standard defaulting of the privacy settings, or limitations with business accounts), but the minor drawbacks can not overcome its everyday worth.

I absolutely love using Venmo! It's such a breeze to link my bank and card, and even on the rare occasion when there's a hiccup, it's quickly resolved. What I find particularly impressive is their crypto service. Yes, they do have a slightly higher fee compared to other brokers, but the convenience and security they offer make it totally worth it. I also appreciate the added layer of security they provide by using Plaid to link my card and bank. Instant transfers are usually seamless, and on the off chance there's a delay, I know it's because they're ensuring the safety of my funds. There was this one time when my account was temporarily frozen, but it was all in the interest of security. After verifying my ID, they informed me that my account would be deactivated temporarily. They held my funds for 18 days, but I was confident that my money was safe and I would get it back after the period. Their customer support is truly commendable. Every time I've reached out, they've provided me with different solutions, showing their dedication to resolving my issues. It's clear that they're looking at my data from various angles to provide the best possible solution. If you ever have trouble reaching them via chat bot, don't worry! They'll guide you to wait for a Venmo email, which is always comprehensive and helpful. I've been a fan of this app for a long time, and I must say, it's only gotten better since becoming a part of PayPal. The combination of convenience, security, and excellent customer service makes Venmo a top choice for me!

I would give Venmo more than five stars if I could! I've had an interesting experience with a recurring payment to SPOKEO, who claimed they had no account with me. Initially, I was a bit puzzled as I couldn't reach a real person at customer service, but I soon realized they're entirely AI-based, which is quite innovative and tech-forward! After a couple of months, I decided to switch things up a bit and explore other options besides Paypal and Venmo. They had to deny my claim due to my history of payments to SPOKEO, which was a bit of a misunderstanding, but it's all part of the learning curve. I've since found another provider for online payments, but I must say, my experience with Venmo was quite a journey. It's a unique platform that's definitely worth trying out. They've proven to be quite a game-changer in the online payment industry. I did lose a few months of $29.95 unauthorized payments, but it was a valuable lesson in online security. Without Venmo's involvement, SPOKEO couldn't investigate, which shows how integral Venmo is in the process. So, if you're considering signing up for Venmo, I'd say go for it! It's a learning experience you wouldn't want to miss.
